There is no hope of doing perfect research (Griffiths, 1998, p97).Do you agree

Every individual is entitled to its own opinion. Like Sir. Griffiths, base on his study he believes that there is no hope in doing a perfect research. Whether to agree or to disagree with his statement I need to elaborate further my opinion, why indirectly believed that research is not absolutely perfect and in relative sense believe that research is perfect.
Let me start in telling something about my life during my collage days. At one school session our instructor asks me and each of his students why we took our respective course. And for my part I told them that I took Bachelors degree in Applied Statistics enable to help other people in their research projects by using statistics. And the basis for my answer is that I believe that statistical analysis is one of the fundamentals in doing research. And as my schooling progress I learned that Statistical Analysis in any research projects is all done by estimates. And estimates are not absolute meaning there is still a margin of error cause by human or any unavoidable circumstances.  Thus from this assumptions of one of the fundamental part of research then I can conclude that research is not absolutely perfect.
And to elaborate further that research is not perfect let me explain some researches I conducted with my fellow colleagues did several years ago. The first example of my research is to forecast the prices of some highland vegetables (Munoz 2003.). The data I’ve collected are the prices of these vegetables ten years ago; enable to determine the trend, seasonality and time series analysis. And most of all to determine the forecast price five years ahead from the time the study was conducted. Upon completing the research I believe that it is perfect since I got good rapports from the research panels and most of all I discover the trend and forecast value of these highland vegetables which give me a self fulfillment and satisfaction.  And from the popular definition of research as a systematic investigation, and experimentation aimed to established facts and new discoveries, I believed that I’ve done a perfect one, believing that the results would come true. However as years past and the looking on the inflation and deflation rate of this vegetables, the trend that is being forecast for some reasons didn’t collaborate from what I expected. One reason may be the changes of the economic status of the locality like importation of vegetable from other country. Since the  importation  of this vegetables are not done during the time frame of study and the time the data were collected, the prices of the vegetables are expectedly have lower value. This changes the trend, and forecast price value of vegetables in which didn’t correlate from the research I’ve conducted.
Other study to prove that there is no hope of doing perfect research is on determining the crime hotspots in certain city done by my school mate Mr. Paculan. The studies suggest that by using hierarchical cluster analysis and spatial analysis then the crime hotspots can be spotted.(Paculan 2009)  And from the study, a certain part of the city are considered crime hotspots especially the part were liquor bars and parks are being establish during the night. However due to fast development, rapid growth of establishments and parks, and the growth of crime rates the presumed  hotspots may not be same  but additional hotspots can be involve. Thus from this research the results could vary from time to time to make the study imperfect since continuous process of research is needed.
In conclusion base from my experience and researches, we could say that the researches for some point is complete since all the methods are religiously followed and satisfaction, commendation and excitement are being experience knowing that the research study is highly satisfactory. However researches cannot be perfect in absolute sense since changes and unforeseen occurrences can happen anytime and this could lessen the reliability and efficacy. What is true in a certain time could not be absolutely true for some other time. And statistically all are estimates from sample data collection, to the inferential statistics and till finishing the discussion; we are bound to margin of errors. And errors are part of researches which will make it imperfect which is also bound for readjustments, continuous process, and improvement enable to adapt to the changes that happening in our fast developing and changing environment. Thus in general I also believe with Griffith’s statement that “There is no hope of doing perfect research” (Griffiths, 1998, p97).
